Amend CSHB 2335 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 5, line 2, after "employee" insert "who provides direct delivery of services to children and families".
(2) On page 5, between lines 16 and 17, insert the following:
(d) In providing the training required by this section, the department shall, to the extent possible, use sources of evidence-based trauma training that are available to the department at no cost, including online programs.
(3) Add the following appropriately numbered SECTIONS to the bill and renumber subsequent SECTIONS accordingly:
SECTION ____. Section 264.015, Family Code, is amended by adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows:
(d-1) In providing the training required by this section, the department shall, to the extent possible, use sources of evidence-based trauma training that are available to the department at no cost, including online programs.
SECTION ____. The changes in law made by this Act may not be construed to require the Health and Human Services Commission, the Department of Family and Protective Services, or any other person or entity to procure or provide a specific type of evidence-based trauma training or to contract with a specific vendor or program to provide evidence-based trauma training.
