Amend CSHB 3859 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 5, between lines 2 and 3, insert the following:
Sec. 45.0041. NOTICE OF DECLINATION OF SERVICES REQUIRED. (a) A child welfare services provider who declines to provide, facilitate, or refer a person for child welfare services that conflict with, or under circumstances that conflict with, the provider's sincerely held religious beliefs shall, as soon as practicable, notify the department that the provider declined to provide, facilitate, or refer the person for services, and shall include the person's name and contact information in the notice.
(b) Upon receipt of a notice under Subsection (a), the department shall assist the person in obtaining the declined services.
