Amend CSSB 1 (house committee printing) in Article V of the bill, following the appropriations to the Department of Public Safety, by adding the following appropriately numbered rider:
____. Traffic Stop Data Report. The Department of Public Safety, using funds appropriated by this Act, shall revise the department's annual traffic stop data report required under Article 2.134, Code of Criminal Procedure, to include information relating to the use of force occurring during a motor vehicle stop, categorized according to the race or ethnicity of the affected person. The department shall present the data in the report according to commonly accepted academic standards.
