Amend CSSB 4 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 3, line 19, between "ENFORCEMENT" and the underlined period, insert "; ATTORNEY GENERAL MODEL POLICY".
(2) On page 4, between lines 23 and 24, insert the following appropriately lettered subsections:
(____) Notwithstanding Subsections (a) and (b), a local entity or campus police department shall adopt and enforce a policy that prohibits the entity's or department's peace officers from participating in enforcing immigration laws at a school-sponsored function held outside of the school campus.
(____) The attorney general, in consultation with local entities and campus police departments, shall develop and publish a model policy on the attorney general's Internet website for the enforcement of immigration laws at school-sponsored functions held outside of the school campus to ensure that those events remain safe and accessible to all residents of this state regardless of immigration status.
