BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

 

Interested parties note the need to amend the powers and duties of the Wood Trace Municipal Utility District No. 1, of Montgomery County, Texas, in order to help the district better serve its local community. H.B. 1664 seeks to achieve this goal.

 

CRIMINAL JUSTICE IMPACT

 

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly create a criminal offense, increase the punishment for an existing criminal offense or category of offenses, or change the eligibility of a person for community supervision, parole, or mandatory supervision.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.

 

ANALYSIS

 

H.B. 1664 amends the Special District Local Laws Code, as effective April 1, 2017, to grant the Wood Trace Municipal Utility District No. 1 of Montgomery County the power to undertake certain road projects and issue, subject to certain requirements, obligations.

On passage, or, if the bill does not receive the necessary vote, September 1, 2017.
