AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

According to interested parties, the law relating to the location of the Irma Rangel College of Pharmacy is unclear. The purpose of H.B. 2002 is to clarify that law. 

 

H.B. 2002 amends current law relating to the location of the Irma Rangel College of Pharmacy.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1. Amends Section 89.051(b), Education Code, to require the college to be known as The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy, and the primary building in which the school is operated to be located in Kleberg County and to include "Irma Rangel" in its official name.

 

SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2017.
