AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Section 2051.0441, Government Code provides that in certain counties where there is no newspaper that meets the notice requirements under 2051.044, Government Code, notices may be published in an alternative publication. H.B. 2985 raises the population bracket in Section 2051.0441 to account for population growth in Fannin County, which still does not have a newspaper that meets the requirements under 2051.044.

H.B. 2985 amends current law relating to the type of newspaper required for notice by publication in certain counties.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
