BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
Interested parties note the need to revise the enabling legislation of the North Plains Groundwater Conservation District with regard to the district's taxing power. S.B. 1268 seeks to address this need by revising such legislation.

ANALYSIS
S.B. 1268 amends Chapter 498, Acts of the 54th Legislature, Regular Session, 1955, to remove the annual cap on the maintenance and operating taxes of the North Plains Groundwater Conservation District set at five cents on the $100 assessed valuation on property in the district subject to taxation.
