AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
SB 1937 amends a provision of law relating to a collection improvement program developed by a county or municipality to improve the collection of court costs, fees, and fines imposed in criminal cases. Currently, counties with a population under 50,000 are not required to participate in the program; S.B. 1937 raises that threshold to 100,000.
As proposed, S.B. 1937 amends current law relating to the participation of certain counties in the collection improvement program.
