A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to a human papillomavirus immunization report. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 161, Health and Safety |
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 161.01095 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 161.01095. HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS ANNUAL REPORT. (a) |
|
The department shall submit a report on the immunization rates for |
|
human papillomavirus in this state to the governor, lieutenant |
|
governor, and speaker of the house of representatives not later |
|
than January 31 of each year. The department shall publish the |
|
report on the department's Internet website. |
|
(b) The report at a minimum must provide statistical |
|
information on human papillomavirus immunizations for each county |
|
in this state and this state for the preceding year, including: |
|
(1) the number of persons immunized for human |
|
papillomavirus and the percentage of persons immunized for human |
|
papillomavirus compared to the number of persons eligible for that |
|
immunization; |
|
(2) the number of human papillomavirus vaccine doses |
|
administered in total and in each dose interval; |
|
(3) the number of persons immunized for human |
|
papillomavirus by age; |
|
(4) the number of persons immunized for human |
|
papillomavirus by gender; and |
|
(5) a comparison between the number of human |
|
papillomavirus vaccines administered and the number of other |
|
recommended adolescent vaccines administered, including the |
|
tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and meningococcal vaccines. |
|
(c) In creating the report, the department shall use data |
|
from the vaccines for children program established by the |
|
department as authorized by 42 U.S.C. Section 1396s or the |
|
immunization registry established under Section 161.007. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
