A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to information included in reports on caseloads for child
  protective services caseworkers.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 40.0528(d), Human Resources Code, is
  amended to read as follows:
         (d)  The department shall measure the [In reporting
  information relating to] caseloads of child protective services
  caseworkers [,] in accordance with standards developed by [addition
  to reporting caseload by each individual affected by the case,] the
  department. The standards must include:
               (1)  the total number of children involved in the case;
               (2)  the type of placement for each child involved in
  the case;
               (3)  the total number of placements for the case;
               (4)  the level of care required for each child involved
  in the case;
               (5)  the level of department intervention and parental
  or family services required for the case; and
               (6)  the level of caseworker experience required to
  appropriately manage the case [shall report the number of cases for
  each caseworker on the basis of family unit].
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
