A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to information included in reports on caseloads for child |
|
protective services caseworkers. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 40.0528(d), Human Resources Code, is |
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
(d) The department shall measure the [In reporting
|
|
information relating to] caseloads of child protective services |
|
caseworkers [,] in accordance with standards developed by [addition
|
|
to reporting caseload by each individual affected by the case,] the |
|
department. The standards must include: |
|
(1) the total number of children involved in the case; |
|
(2) the type of placement for each child involved in |
|
the case; |
|
(3) the total number of placements for the case; |
|
(4) the level of care required for each child involved |
|
in the case; |
|
(5) the level of department intervention and parental |
|
or family services required for the case; and |
|
(6) the level of caseworker experience required to |
|
appropriately manage the case [shall report the number of cases for
|
|
each caseworker on the basis of family unit]. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
