A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the exception to disclosure under the public |
|
|
information law of certain personal information contained in a |
|
|
citation issued for a violation of a state traffic law or local |
|
|
traffic ordinance. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 552.1082 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 552.1082. EXCEPTION: CERTAIN PERSONAL INFORMATION |
|
|
FROM TRAFFIC VIOLATION RECORDS. Information contained in a |
|
|
citation issued for a violation of a state traffic law or local |
|
|
traffic ordinance is excepted from the requirements of Section |
|
|
552.021 if the information is the home address or personal |
|
|
telephone number of the person who is the subject of a citation. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
