A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the expiration of an instructor approval letter issued |
|
|
by the Texas Private Security Board. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Sections 1702.301(g) and (h), Occupations Code, |
|
|
are amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(g) A letter of authority[,] or a school approval [or school
|
|
|
instructor approval] letter issued by the board[,] expires on the |
|
|
first anniversary of the date of issuance. |
|
|
(h) A license, registration, instructor approval letter, or |
|
|
endorsement issued under this chapter, other than one specified in |
|
|
this section, expires on the date specified by this chapter or by |
|
|
board rule. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 1702.301, Occupations Code, as amended |
|
|
by this Act, applies only to an instructor approval letter issued or |
|
|
renewed on or after the effective date of this Act. An instructor |
|
|
approval letter issued or renewed before the effective date of this |
|
|
Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the letter was |
|
|
issued or renewed, and the former law is continued in effect for |
|
|
that purpose. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
