A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to financial assistance for port security, |
|
|
transportation, or facility projects. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 55.002, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b-1) In addition to funding projects under Subsection (a), |
|
|
the department by rule shall establish a grant program to fund port |
|
|
security, transportation, or facility projects with money from the |
|
|
general revenue accounts, bond proceeds if allowed by other law, or |
|
|
any other money appropriated by the legislature. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
