A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to grants from the Department of Family and Protective |
|
|
Services to faith-based and charitable organizations that provide |
|
|
services to children and families. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 264.004, Family Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) The department may use state and federal funds to |
|
|
provide grants to charitable and faith-based organizations to |
|
|
provide the benefits or services to children and families described |
|
|
by Subsection (c). The executive commissioner shall adopt rules to |
|
|
implement this subsection, including rules governing the |
|
|
procedures for applying for and awarding grants. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
