A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to Internet broadcasts of meetings held by the board of
  directors of a community development corporation.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter E, Chapter 22, Business Organizations
  Code, is amended by adding Section 22.236 to read as follows:
         Sec. 22.236.  INTERNET BROADCAST AND ARCHIVE OF BOARD
  MEETINGS OF CERTAIN CORPORATIONS.  (a)  This section applies only to
  a corporation whose purpose is to foster economic growth and
  revitalization, provide economic development services, or develop
  affordable housing in a defined neighborhood or for a targeted
  population.  The corporation may be known as a "community
  development corporation."
         (b)  In a manner that would comply with Section 551.128(c),
  Government Code, if the board of directors were a governmental body
  to which that section applies, a corporation shall broadcast over
  the Internet live video and audio of each meeting held by the board
  of directors of the corporation. Subsequently, the corporation
  shall make available through the corporation's Internet website
  archived video and audio for each meeting for which live video and
  audio was provided under this section.
         SECTION 2.  The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
  a meeting held on or after the effective date of this Act.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
