A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of regional mobility authority toll projects by |
|
|
public school buses. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 370, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 370.194 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 370.194. USE OF TOLL PROJECTS BY PUBLIC SCHOOL BUSES. |
|
|
(a) An authority may not require a school bus exempt from |
|
|
registration fees under Section 502.453 to pay a toll for use of an |
|
|
authority toll project. |
|
|
(b) This section does not affect the ability of an authority |
|
|
to adopt policies or rules regarding the use of the authority's |
|
|
facilities, including policies or rules prohibiting the use of the |
|
|
authority's facilities by vehicles unable to maintain minimum |
|
|
designated travel speeds. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
