A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to an audit by the comptroller of unpaid oil and gas |
|
|
royalties held in trust by the Railroad Commission of Texas. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) The comptroller shall conduct an audit of |
|
|
any unpaid oil or gas royalties held in trust by the Railroad |
|
|
Commission of Texas. |
|
|
(b) Not later than January 1, 2019, the comptroller shall |
|
|
submit to the legislature a report containing the findings of the |
|
|
audit conducted under this section. For each unpaid non-claimant, |
|
|
the report must state the name of the payee and the county in which |
|
|
the land from which the oil or gas was produced is located. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act expires January 2, 2019. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
