A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to state agency contracts with the United States Postal |
|
|
Service. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 2163, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 2163.0035 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 2163.0035. CONTRACTING WITH UNITED STATES POSTAL |
|
|
SERVICE. (a) A state agency may contract with the United States |
|
|
Postal Service to provide to the public at one or more facilities |
|
|
operated by the United States Postal Service in this state a service |
|
|
the agency is required or authorized by law to regularly provide. |
|
|
(b) A state agency that enters into a contract under |
|
|
Subsection (a) is responsible for providing the service required by |
|
|
the contract and shall set measurable performance standards for the |
|
|
United States Postal Service in the contract. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
