A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requiring the Public Utility Commission of Texas to |
|
|
monitor and report on the deployment of advanced metering systems |
|
|
in this state. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 39.107, Utilities Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (l) to read as follows: |
|
|
(l) The commission shall monitor deployment of advanced |
|
|
metering systems in this state. The commission shall publish on its |
|
|
Internet website data on deployment of advanced meters by zip code. |
|
|
The commission shall update the data not later than December 1 of |
|
|
each year. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
