A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to standards used by the Public Utility Commission of |
|
|
Texas to evaluate proposed routes of a transmission project. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 37.056, Utilities Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) In considering an application for a certificate for a |
|
|
transmission project for which alternative routes have been |
|
|
proposed, the commission shall include in the evaluation of each |
|
|
route the cost to the applicant of acquiring access to land, |
|
|
rights-of-way, easements, or other property. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
