A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to restrictions on political activities for county |
|
|
elections administrators. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 31, Election Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection 31.035 (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 31.035. (d) This section does not apply to an |
|
|
administrator who is the county elections administrator in a county |
|
|
other than that in which the administrator holds nonpartisan public |
|
|
|
|
|
office or is a candidate for a nonpartisan public office. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
