A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requiring the Parks and Wildlife Department to issue |
|
|
permits for the management of the wild mule deer population; |
|
|
requiring an occupational permit. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 43.621(a), Parks and Wildlife Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) The department shall establish a program for the |
|
|
issuance of permits under this subchapter. In accordance with that |
|
|
program, the department shall [may] issue a permit for the |
|
|
management of the wild mule deer population to each applicant who |
|
|
satisfies the requirements for a permit. |
|
|
SECTION 2. (a) The Parks and Wildlife Department shall adopt |
|
|
rules to implement Section 43.621(a), Parks and Wildlife Code, as |
|
|
amended by this Act, not later than May 1, 2018. |
|
|
(b) A person is not required to hold a permit for the |
|
|
management of the wild mule deer population as required under |
|
|
Subchapter R-1, Chapter 43, Parks and Wildlife Code, before August |
|
|
1, 2018. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
