A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to municipal regulation of property of political |
|
|
subdivisions. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Sections 211.013(c) and (d), Local Government |
|
|
Code, are amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) This subchapter does not apply to a building, other |
|
|
structure, or land under the control, administration, or |
|
|
jurisdiction of a political subdivision of the state or a state or |
|
|
federal agency. |
|
|
(d) This subchapter applies to a privately owned building or |
|
|
other structure and privately owned land when leased to a political |
|
|
subdivision of the state or a state agency. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 214.904, Local Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) Each municipality shall adopt procedures for expediting |
|
|
the processing of an application for a permit submitted under this |
|
|
section by an independent school district. |
|
|
SECTION 3. Not later than December 31, 2017, each |
|
|
municipality shall adopt expedited procedures for processing |
|
|
school district permit applications as required by Section |
|
|
214.904(e), Local Government Code, as added by this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
