A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to expedited licensing procedures for certain nurses who |
|
|
are military spouses. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 301, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 301.262 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 301.262. EXPEDITED LICENSE PROCEDURES FOR CERTAIN |
|
|
APPLICANTS. (a) The board shall establish procedures to expedite |
|
|
the issuance of a temporary license under Section 301.260 and to |
|
|
expedite the processing of an application for a permanent license |
|
|
under this subchapter for an applicant who is licensed as a |
|
|
registered nurse or vocational nurse by another state and who is the |
|
|
spouse of a person who is serving on active duty as a member of the |
|
|
armed forces of the United States. |
|
|
(b) The board shall specify in the procedures established |
|
|
under Subsection (a) the appropriate documentation to establish an |
|
|
applicant's status as a spouse of a person who is serving on active |
|
|
duty as a member of the armed forces of the United States. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
