A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the repeal of the management-to-staff ratio requirement |
|
|
for state agencies. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2052.103(b), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) The report must be made in the manner prescribed by the |
|
|
state auditor and include: |
|
|
(1) an annotated organizational chart depicting the |
|
|
total number of full-time equivalent employees, without regard to |
|
|
the source of funds used to pay all or part of the salary of an |
|
|
employee, and the total number of managers, supervisors, and staff |
|
|
for each functional area in the state agency; and |
|
|
(2) [the management-to-staff ratio for each
|
|
|
functional area; and
|
|
|
[(3)] a separate organizational chart that summarizes |
|
|
the categories of employees in the agency's regional offices |
|
|
without regard to the source of funds used to pay all or part of the |
|
|
salary of an employee. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 651.004, Government Code, is repealed. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
