A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to training for peace officers on enforcing the Private |
|
|
Security Act. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 1701.267 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1701.267. TRAINING PROGRAM RELATING TO PRIVATE |
|
|
SECURITY. The commission shall establish and maintain a training |
|
|
program for peace officers on enforcing Chapter 1702, including |
|
|
training on enforcing the provisions of that chapter that apply to |
|
|
an alarm systems company, armored car company, courier company, |
|
|
guard company, guard dog company, locksmith company, |
|
|
investigations company, and private security consulting company. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2017, the Texas |
|
|
Commission on Law Enforcement shall approve the curriculum for the |
|
|
training program described by Section 1701.267, Occupations Code, |
|
|
as added by this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
