dissolution of a marriage. |
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
SECTION 1. Section 6.406, Family Code, is amended by adding |
Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
(c) If the suit for dissolution of a marriage includes a |
suit affecting the parent-child relationship under Subsection (b), |
the court shall provide the parties with a written notice that |
includes the following statement: |
"It is the policy of the State of Texas that the best |
interests of the child shall always be the primary consideration of |

children of parents who are divorced or separated can often be very |

to a suit for dissolution of a marriage filed on or after the |
effective date of this Act. |
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
