A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the prioritization of public transportation funding for |
|
|
areas disproportionately affected by the granting of ad valorem tax |
|
|
relief to disabled veterans. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 201.996, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) In establishing a formula for allocating funds for |
|
|
congestion mitigation and air quality improvement projects under |
|
|
Subsection (a)(4), the department shall prioritize funding for |
|
|
public transportation in regions with political subdivisions that: |
|
|
(1) contain or are in proximity to a United States |
|
|
military installation; and |
|
|
(2) are disproportionately affected by the granting of |
|
|
ad valorem tax relief to disabled veterans. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
