A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|

|
relating to the conduct of certain bond elections. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 85, Election Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Section 85.0655 to read as follows: |
|
|
85.0655 TEMPORARY BRANCH IN BOND ELECTIONS. |
|
|
Notwithstanding |
|
|
the provisions of sections 85.062, 85.064, and 85.065, the location |
|
|
of a movable polling place in an election in which a proposition |
|
|
submitted to the voters for approval of the issuance of bonds or the |
|
|
imposition, increase, or reduction of a tax shall be fixed at one |
|
|
place for the duration of the period that voting is conducted at the |
|
|
polling place. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1,2017. |
