A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to including students enrolled in open-enrollment charter |
|
|
schools in the determination of a district's weighted average daily |
|
|
attendance for purposes of complying with equalized wealth level |
|
|
requirements. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 41, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 41.0033 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 41.0033. INCLUSION OF STUDENTS ATTENDING |
|
|
OPEN-ENROLLMENT CHARTER SCHOOLS IN DETERMINING WEIGHTED AVERAGE |
|
|
DAILY ATTENDANCE. Notwithstanding Section 41.001(3), a student |
|
|
residing in the boundaries of a school district who is attending an |
|
|
open-enrollment charter school is included in calculating the |
|
|
district's weighted average daily attendance. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
