A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to motor vehicle weight enforcement by certain weight |
|
|
enforcement officers. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 621.408, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), a weight enforcement |
|
|
officer described by Section 621.401(3), (4), (5), or (6) may not |
|
|
enforce this subchapter on an interstate highway or United States |
|
|
highway if the vehicle that is the subject of the enforcement is a |
|
|
vehicle described by Section 623.162. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
