A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the requirement that a political party's county |
|
|
executive committee hold open meetings. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 171, Election Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 171.0211 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 171.0211. OPEN MEETINGS. Meetings of a county |
|
|
executive committee are subject to Chapter 551, Government Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a meeting held on or after September 1, 2017. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
