A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to reimbursement of costs incurred by political |
|
|
subdivisions for emergency services provided on toll projects |
|
|
operated by private entities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 372, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 372.054 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 372.054. PRIVATE OPERATOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR EMERGENCY |
|
|
SERVICES PROVIDED BY POLITICAL SUBDIVISION. A private entity |
|
|
operating a toll project under a contract with a toll project entity |
|
|
shall reimburse a political subdivision for costs incurred by the |
|
|
political subdivision in providing police, fire, or emergency |
|
|
medical services on the toll project. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 372.054, Transportation Code, as added |
|
|
by this Act, applies only to expenses incurred for emergency |
|
|
services provided on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
