A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|

relating to the consideration of increased climate variability in |
|
|
the state hazard mitigation plan. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, C |
|
|
hapter 418, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 418.052 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 418.052. STATE HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN. The division |
|
|
shall include in the state hazard mitigation plan submitted under |
|
|
Section 322, Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency |
|
|
Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. Section 5165), planning for a prompt |
|
|
response to the impact of any adverse effects associated with |
|
|
increased climate variability. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
