R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life rich in family, friends, and meaningful
  service drew to a close with the passing of Barbara Lynn Stephenson
  of Wharton on September 25, 2016, at the age of 68; and
         WHEREAS, The only child of Lewis and Hope Jarvis, the former
  Barbara Lynn Jarvis was born on July 29, 1948, in Amherst and raised
  in Levelland, where she graduated from high school in 1965; she
  exchanged wedding vows with Phil Stephenson in 1973, and the couple
  became the parents of two cherished children, Scott and Allison;
  and
         WHEREAS, The Stephenson family moved to Wharton in 1974, and
  Ms. Stephenson earned an associate degree in interior design from
  the Art Institute of Houston; her passion for volunteering led her
  to work with a host of organizations, including the Little League,
  Bright Minds, and various Republican women's groups, and she also
  helped organize a community rally for the troops during the Iraq
  War; she experienced the joy of becoming a grandmother to six
  treasured grandchildren, and in her leisure time, she enjoyed
  doting on her loved ones, reading, and relaxing at the couple's
  vacation home in Rockport; and
         WHEREAS, Barbara Stephenson left an indelible imprint on the
  lives of all who were blessed to share in her affection and
  friendship, and they will forever hold her close in their hearts;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Barbara Lynn
  Stephenson and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
  family: to her husband, the Honorable Phil Stephenson; to her
  children, Scott Stephenson and his wife, Tammy, and Allison LeGrand
  and her husband, Chris; to her stepbrothers, Wayne Hardy and his
  wife, Bonnie, and Dan Hardy and his wife, Vanessa; to her
  grandchildren, Lindsey, Meagan, and Blake LeGrand and Matthew,
  Tyler, and Kaitlyn Stephenson; and to her other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Barbara
  Lynn Stephenson.
