R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Dennis Stanek retired from the West |
|
|
University Place Fire Department on January 11, 2017, after 43 |
|
|
years of dedicated public service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of West University Place, Dennis Stanek |
|
|
began his exemplary tenure with the department on July 1, 1973; he |
|
|
started out as a firefighter and was quickly promoted, earning the |
|
|
rank of lieutenant in 1976; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his outstanding career, |
|
|
Lieutenant Stanek worked tirelessly in support of the fire |
|
|
department's mission to protect lives and property; he was one of |
|
|
the first paramedics in the department, and he was instrumental in |
|
|
providing the city with its first ambulances, built out of |
|
|
converted vans; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dennis Stanek greatly benefited the residents of |
|
|
West University Place through his professionalism and devotion to |
|
|
public safety, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his |
|
|
exceptional record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lieutenant Dennis Stanek on the |
|
|
occasion of his retirement from the West University Place Fire |
|
|
Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Lieutenant Stanek as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
