R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Lois Elaine Ramsey Van Wart of Houston, who passed away on April |
|
25, 2016, at the age of 82; and |
|
WHEREAS, The former Lois Ramsey was born on May 30, 1933, to |
|
Johnnie and Billie Ramsey; raised in Houston, she attended |
|
Jefferson Davis High School and the University of Houston; she |
|
married C. Donald Van Wart, and the couple became the proud parents |
|
of two children, Jeffery and Jill; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deeply engaged in her community, Mrs. Van Wart was |
|
an active member of the Greater Houston Pachyderm Club and Magic |
|
Circle Republican Women's Club, the latter of which she served as |
|
president; she also gave of her time by volunteering with the |
|
Houston Methodist Hospital Service Corps for 12 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Lois Van Wart lived a rich and purposeful life |
|
centered on her family, her faith, and her community, and those who |
|
were fortunate enough to share in her love and affection will |
|
forever carry her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lois Elaine Ramsey |
|
Van Wart and extend heartfelt sympathy to her family: to her |
|
husband, C. Donald Van Wart; to her children, Jeffery Van Wart and |
|
his wife, Linda, and Jill Van Wart Hood; to her grandchildren, |
|
Jeffery Van Wart Jr. and his wife, Kaci, William Hood II, Elaine Van |
|
Wart, Donald Hood and his wife, Ashley, and Carson Van Wart; to her |
|
great-grandchildren, Rebecca Hood and Jeffery Van Wart III; and to |
|
her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lois Van |
|
Wart. |
