R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Laura Christine Putkey of Houston, who passed away on September
  21, 2016, at the age of 59; and
         WHEREAS, Born on July 29, 1957, to Pat and Claire Fagundes in
  Palo Alto, California, the former Laura Fagundes graduated from El
  Camino High School and studied business at Skyline College and
  Riverside Community College; she met John Putkey in 1974, and they
  were joined in matrimony in 1977; over the course of a rewarding
  marriage that spanned 39 years, they were blessed with two
  children, Traci and Johnny; and
         WHEREAS, After moving to Houston in 1982, Ms. Putkey enjoyed
  a career that put her administrative abilities and graphic design
  talents to good use; in addition to working with a number of
  medical-affiliated organizations, she established her own
  business, Graphics Communications by Laura; a joyful soul who loved
  opportunities to celebrate her family and friends, she delighted in
  organizing birthday and Christmas parties, whose brilliant sparkle
  and conviviality still evoke the warmest of memories; and
         WHEREAS, Laura Putkey embraced life to the fullest, and she
  will forever remain a vibrant presence for those who knew and loved
  her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Laura Christine
  Putkey and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family:
  to her husband, John; to her children, Traci and Johnny; to her
  siblings, Viki-Lynn, Joseph, Frank, Stanley, Gregory, and Eric; and
  to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Laura
  Christine Putkey.
