R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Officer Travis Nice of the Robinson Police
  Department has deservedly been recognized for his actions on
  November 11, 2016, when he helped deliver a baby during a traffic
  stop; and
         WHEREAS, On that day, Robinson patrol officer Brandon Hajek
  pulled over a speeding vehicle, whose driver informed him that his
  wife was in labor; Officer Hajek then called for paramedics before
  summoning the aid of Officer Nice, himself a former paramedic, who
  was traveling close behind and soon arrived on the scene; and
         WHEREAS, Putting his training into practice, Officer Nice
  assessed the situation and then enlisted the help of Officer Hajek
  in moving the expectant mother to the back of the vehicle, where he
  was able to help her deliver a healthy baby boy; Officer Nice was
  later honored with a police commendation medal at a meeting of the
  Robinson City Council; and
         WHEREAS, Through his skill and presence of mind in an
  emergency, Officer Travis Nice earned the profound gratitude of one
  family along with the sincere appreciation and esteem of his
  colleagues and fellow residents, and he may indeed take great pride
  in his actions; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Officer Travis Nice for his assistance
  in delivering a baby during a traffic stop and extend to him sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Officer Nice as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
