R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of Bernard Jerome Seal Jr. of Corpus Christi, who passed away on
  January 12, 2017, at the age of 57; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Bernard Seal Sr. and Evelyn Abroms Seal
  Kraus, B. J. Seal was born in 1959 in Florence, Alabama; he moved
  with his family to Corpus Christi in 1962, and throughout his life,
  he considered the city to be his true home; an alumnus of King High
  School, he went on to graduate from Southwest Texas State
  University in San Marcos, where he was a member of Sigma Nu
  fraternity; and
         WHEREAS, After returning to Corpus Christi, Mr. Seal took a
  job as a real estate agent with his family's firm, Berney Seal Co.
  Realtors; his love for good food eventually led him to embark on a
  second career as the proprietor of Bernard's Deli, which later
  became Bernard's Catering; and
         WHEREAS, Though his journey on this earth ended far too soon,
  B. J. Seal touched the lives of countless individuals with his
  warmth, his generosity, and his delightful wit, and he will always
  be remembered with great affection by those he leaves behind; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Bernard Jerome Seal
  Jr. and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to
  his children, Bernard Seal III, Connor Seal, and Sabrina Seal; to
  his fiancée, Jena Kauffmann; to his mother, Evelyn Kraus, and his
  stepfather, Dr. Melvin Kraus; to his stepmother, Shirley Seal; to
  his brothers, Mark Seal and his wife, Laura, and Eddie Seal and his
  wife, Melissa; to his stepsisters, Marsha Underberg and her
  husband, Mike, and Marlene Wright and her husband, Jimbo; to his
  stepbrothers, Dr. Alan Kraus and his wife, Malea, Dr. David Kraus
  and his wife, Cathy, and Glen McElroy and his wife, Del; and to his
  other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of B. J. Seal.
