R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Wayne Hofmann retired as county commissioner for |
|
Precinct 1 of Mason County on December 31, 2016, drawing to a close |
|
a notable tenure in that office that spanned more than a decade and |
|
a half; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Hofmann first joined the Mason County |
|
Commissioners Court in January 2001, and he served in office |
|
continuously for the next 16 years; over the course of his tenure, |
|
this esteemed Texan worked tirelessly to address the needs of area |
|
residents; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Mason, Mr. Hofmann attended San Angelo |
|
College on a football scholarship; while still in his teens, he also |
|
joined the Army Reserve, where he rose to the rank of sergeant; he |
|
went on to enjoy a successful four-decade-long career at the |
|
Commercial Bank of Mason and ultimately retired as vice president; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Hofmann has enjoyed the |
|
support of a loving family that includes his wife of more than half |
|
a century, Johanna, as well as their three children and eight |
|
grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his years on the commissioners court, |
|
Wayne Hofmann demonstrated skilled, knowledgeable leadership and a |
|
deep concern for the public interest, and he may indeed reflect with |
|
pride on all that he has accomplished in behalf of his fellow |
|
citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Wayne Hofmann for his service as the |
|
Mason County commissioner for Precinct 1 and extend to him sincere |
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Hofmann as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
