R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 157 in Corpus |
|
|
Christi is celebrating its 50th anniversary on February 5, 2017; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Chartered by St. Pius X Catholic Church, Troop 157 |
|
|
has made immeasurable contributions to the lives of its members by |
|
|
providing an educational program that builds character, promotes |
|
|
personal fitness, and trains participants in the responsibilities |
|
|
of citizenship; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the years, 125 members of the troop have |
|
|
attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor conferred by the |
|
|
Boy Scouts of America, and more still have earned religious emblems |
|
|
of the Catholic Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For half a century, Troop 157 has provided local |
|
|
youth with opportunities to discover and enjoy the outdoors, |
|
|
develop important leadership skills, and perform valuable |
|
|
community service, and it is indeed fitting to join in recognizing |
|
|
this notable milestone in the group's history; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of the |
|
|
establishment of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 157 in Corpus |
|
|
Christi and extend to its members and leaders sincere best wishes |
|
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the troop as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
