R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, Members of the 2016-2017 Leadership Mid Valley class |
|
|
are visiting the State Capitol on February 8, 2017, to gain further |
|
|
insight into the workings of state government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Leadership Mid Valley is an exceptional program that |
|
|
provides opportunities for participants to develop leadership |
|
|
skills and increase their knowledge of vital public issues; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Classes inspire a spirit of activism and provide |
|
|
networking opportunities and instruction from knowledgeable |
|
|
figures who encourage the participants to acquaint themselves with |
|
|
community needs and problems while evaluating possible solutions; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This year's Leadership Mid Valley class includes |
|
|
Roberto Palomares Jr., Linda Calderon, Maria Oralia De los Reyes |
|
|
Ph.D., Antonio Lopez Jr., David Arce, Grisel Cavazos, Jason Vargas, |
|
|
Hollie Johnston, Maria Cisneros, Ivan Nordhausen, Omar Rodriguez, |
|
|
William Feeney, and Lupita Borrego; also in attendance are |
|
|
chaperones Laura Espinoza, Robert Donalson, Elizabeth Walker, and |
|
|
Andrew Munoz; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Working to foster a more informed and involved |
|
|
citizenry and to develop new leaders in South Texas, the Leadership |
|
|
Mid Valley program is helping to build a brighter and more promising |
|
|
future for the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby welcome Class XII of the Leadership Mid Valley |
|
|
program to the State Capitol and extend to all participants sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success. |
