R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
  by a great and enduring love, Dale and Joyce Sanders celebrated
  their 60th wedding anniversary on November 21, 2016; and
         WHEREAS, Dale Sanders and the former Joyce Thedford began
  dating in junior high and continued their relationship as students
  at Waco High School; following their graduation, they were united
  in matrimony by the Reverend A. C. Lane at Faith Tabernacle Church
  in Waco in 1956; over the years, their family has grown to include
  their two children, Steve and his wife, Lisa, and Terri and her
  husband, Will, as well as their six grandchildren, Jared, Lacey,
  Jordan, Katherine, Kristina, and Marian, and five
  great-grandchildren, HeidiGrace, Collins, Elly, Harper, and Jordy;
  and
         WHEREAS, Valued members of their community, Mr. Sanders
  worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for 37 years
  before retiring as an equipment supervisor, and Mrs. Sanders
  retired as a financial secretary at Emmanuel Baptist Church after
  more than two decades of service; sustained by a deep faith, they
  are active in their church, and in their leisure hours, they enjoy
  ranching and spending quality time with their family; and
         WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six
  decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
  their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love has
  enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
  and optimism; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dale and Joyce Sanders on their
  60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
