R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, United States Air Force veteran Kathy Endres of
  Woodway has been featured in the Waco Tribune-Herald as one of its
  Voices of Valor; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Oklahoma City, Kathy Endres graduated
  from Alvord High School and subsequently attended Texas Woman's
  University; she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1972 and was
  assigned to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, and she went on
  to complete weather observation training at Chanute AFB in Illinois
  and then transfer to Holloman AFB in New Mexico; in 1975, she was
  deployed to Fulda, Germany, where she served for three years as a
  weather observer, studying atmospheric conditions and advising
  helicopter pilots who flew along the Iron Curtain; and
         WHEREAS, After returning stateside, Ms. Endres was stationed
  at Bergstrom AFB, where she completed her tour of active duty; she
  then took advantage of the G.I. Bill to enroll at The University of
  Texas at Austin and subsequently built a successful career in
  property management; in addition, she served in the Air Force
  Reserve for eight years and retired with the rank of staff sergeant
  in 1991; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Endres has been supported in all her endeavors
  by the love and encouragement of her husband of 30 years, Beau
  Crosby, and she takes tremendous pride in their three children and
  four grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Kathy Endres has fulfilled the highest ideals of the
  United States armed forces, and her fellow citizens owe her a
  lasting debt of gratitude; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Kathy Endres for her exemplary service to
  her country as a member of the U.S. Air Force and congratulate her
  on being recognized as one of the Voices of Valor by the Waco
  Tribune-Herald; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Endres as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
