R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Bushland High School volleyball team once again
  reached the pinnacle of success by winning the University
  Interscholastic League Class 4A state championship at the Curtis
  Culwell Center in Garland on November 19, 2016; and
         WHEREAS, En route to the crown, the Lady Falcons advanced
  through the postseason with triumphs against Lamesa, Pecos, Denver
  City, Wylie, and Glen Rose High Schools to earn a place in the state
  tournament for the seventh time in the past 11 years; Bushland then
  knocked off Liberty Hill in the semifinals, setting the stage for a
  rematch of the 2015 title game against Argyle High School; and
         WHEREAS, Determined to avenge the previous year's loss, the
  Lady Falcons jumped out to an early lead, capturing the first two
  sets by scores of 25-23 and 27-25; Argyle rallied to take the third
  set, but Bushland recovered in the fourth to win by the score of
  25-19 and clinch the fourth championship trophy in school history;
  and
         WHEREAS, Benefiting from strong teamwork throughout the
  season, the Lady Falcons received outstanding contributions from
  each member of the roster: Allie Gandy, Skylar Cleavinger, Jayla
  Norman, Addyson Tiffin, Ariel Marquez, Chrissie Gillette, Savannah
  Sullain, Jalee Sims, Morgan Hooker, Madison McCaslin, Kaylee
  Prescott, Wylee Lane, Kensi Christian, Beckley Boydston, Jennifer
  Grantham, and Claudia Crutcher; the players were ably guided by
  head coach JaNeen Eudy and assistant coaches Michael Rose, Amber
  Parkhurst, and Kaitlyn Wilhelm; and
         WHEREAS, With this latest championship achievement, the
  Bushland High players have furthered their school's reputation as a
  volleyball powerhouse, and each of the Lady Falcons will forever
  cherish her memory of this exceptional season; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Bushland High School
  volleyball team on winning the 2016 UIL Class 4A state championship
  and extend to the team's players, coaches, and staff sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
