R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Brandon Taylor, a junior at Rockwall High School, |
|
has received the President's Gold Volunteer Service Award in |
|
recognition of his efforts to promote interest in STEM fields; and |
|
WHEREAS, The President's Volunteer Service Award celebrates |
|
individuals who have given generously of their time and talents to |
|
improve their communities and enhance quality of life for their |
|
fellow citizens; recipients must perform more than 250 hours of |
|
service within a 12-month period; and |
|
WHEREAS, While Mr. Taylor participated in several charitable |
|
programs, he earned the majority of his hours by sharing his passion |
|
for robotics with area elementary and middle school students; a |
|
member of the Rockwall High robotics team, he volunteered as a judge |
|
for local competitions and took part in summer camps through the |
|
YMCA and ROCK; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has demonstrated |
|
remarkable initiative and dedication, and he is a source of great |
|
pride to his school and his community; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Brandon Taylor on his receipt of |
|
the President's Gold Volunteer Service Award and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Taylor as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
