R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Brandon Taylor, a junior at Rockwall High School,
  has received the President's Gold Volunteer Service Award in
  recognition of his efforts to promote interest in STEM fields; and
         WHEREAS, The President's Volunteer Service Award celebrates
  individuals who have given generously of their time and talents to
  improve their communities and enhance quality of life for their
  fellow citizens; recipients must perform more than 250 hours of
  service within a 12-month period; and
         WHEREAS, While Mr. Taylor participated in several charitable
  programs, he earned the majority of his hours by sharing his passion
  for robotics with area elementary and middle school students; a
  member of the Rockwall High robotics team, he volunteered as a judge
  for local competitions and took part in summer camps through the
  YMCA and ROCK; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has demonstrated
  remarkable initiative and dedication, and he is a source of great
  pride to his school and his community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Brandon Taylor on his receipt of
  the President's Gold Volunteer Service Award and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Taylor as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
