R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Lone Star State is home to more than 180 craft |
|
|
breweries whose workers share a unique passion for their industry |
|
|
and take an intense pride in continuously creating products of the |
|
|
highest caliber; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The work of these craft brewers embodies the |
|
|
entrepreneurial spirit of Texas small business owners; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Laws passed by the 83rd Texas Legislature allowed |
|
|
craft breweries in the state to deliver an economic impact of $2.3 |
|
|
billion in 2013, and another $3.77 billion in 2014; moreover, Texas |
|
|
craft beer producers provide thousands of jobs directly at |
|
|
breweries and brewpubs throughout the state, and the industry is |
|
|
one of the top five fastest-growing manufacturing sectors in the |
|
|
country; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Continued support for craft breweries will lead to a |
|
|
larger positive effect on the Texas economy, bringing more jobs, |
|
|
higher-quality products, and increased tourism to our state; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 9, 2017, as Craft Brewers Day |
|
|
at the State Capitol and extend to all participants sincere best |
|
|
wishes for an informative and enjoyable day in Austin. |
